Zombie Bikini Babes from Outer Space – Review

When I first downloaded the iPhone app Attack of the Zombie Bikini Babes from Outer Space I honestly wasn’t expecting too much. There have been some seriously lackluster apps made and I basically expected this to fall into this category. Plus, with a name like Attack of the Zombie Bikini Babes from Outer Space, can you really blame me?

Well, I’ll be the first to admit I was a little too hasty in passing judgment. This app game is entertaining and fun. At its base its a shooter game, only instead of a gun you get a slingshot. The goal is to kill the zombie babes as they come walking over the horizon, intent on killing and eating you. Use the slingshot to pelt them and kill them. If you’ve ever used the Paper Toss game app you’ll get the hang of this game rather quickly, as they are very similar in set up. You can’t just tap the screen, shoot and be done. You must aim and adjust the tensity of slingshot strap in order to hit the zombies at all different angles.

Using the slingshot to hit zombie babes is entertaining enough and a great way to kill time if you’re in line somewhere. However, what makes this game better than average is that you don’t just use the slingshot to shoot pellets/stones at the zombies, you also get the option of upgrading to raccoons. Yes, you read that right, raccoons! I laughed hysterically and spent all my kill money on that option when it was given to me. Rapid fire raccoons crazily gnawing on zombie babes is not something you see every day and is damn funny.

Another fun aspect is that as you progress in your game, you can make the zombie babes dance. By making them stop to dance, you have more time to adjust your aim, therefore wasting fewer shots. If I had to categorize what the dance looks like, I’d venture to say they look like they’re River Dancing! This option is supposed to give you the upper hand since they all freeze in spot and start doing a jig, but honestly, I was so amused by the dance that I didn’t fire any ammo and ended up getting chomped.

Outside of the main game there is a section where you can ‘listen in’ on broadcasts from random survivors around the world. I think this part had potential to be a pretty neat addition, but there just aren’t enough of the broadcast snippets. That being said, the few that they did make are pretty funny at time. My favorites were: “They’re dead, they’re scantily clad and they eat brains!” & “It is with regret that I inform you that the Sizzler has burned to the ground.”

Final Verdict: For 99 cents, you get an entertaining game that’s fun to play and is worth the purchase.
