EATERS – Trailer

25 Jan

A film so bad that even Uwe Boll won’t put his name to it… except in a ‘presented by’ capacity. Alternatively it may actually be good and they’re trying to keep him out!

Italian outfit ExtremeVideo.it recently released a trailer for their zombie film, EATERS.

“Gyno experiments his insane theories on the bodies of the zombies given to him by the other two men,” says Ristori. “He tells the two men that he is looking for a treatment for the virus in order to save Alexis, Alen’s girlfriend, a healthy carrier of the virus, but actually he is trying in any way to give life to a new race of human-dead in an isolated farm turned into a horrible slaughter house.”

He continues “Alen and Igor leave for two days of hunting to find new ‘guinea-pigs’ for Gyno, who in the meantime orders his enslaved zombies to kill the watches of the fortress. Then he has sex with Alexis to experiment with what can be born between a human and a healthy carrier of the virus. He believes that the virus is a new step of natural evolution … Alen and Igor, during their trip, meet the most varied characters: a crazy painter, neo-Nazis, and a mysterious girl, daughter of the feared Plague-Spreader, supposed craftsman of the epidemic. She is the only live woman in a world governed by the dead. During their return to the fortress, they discover Gyno’s secret farm/slaughter house and find out about his diverted experiments. After this bloodbath trip, they come back to the fortress for the final fight with Gyno.”

Looks like our first impression was right and it’ll be terrible, but it may cross over into the so bad it’s good category. Maybe.

Tweet Defense – iPhone And Twitter Game

Promethium Marketing Group, today announced the development of Tweet Defense, the world’s first iPhone game that tosses ridiculous killer zombies and your Twitter stats into a tower defense blender for a delicious brainy, viral juice mix.

Tweet Defense will be available for the iPhone and iPod Touch platform in February at a limited sale price of $.99. The game was designed in partnership with UK development studio GrinLock and will feature:

10 incredible levels that build from easy walk in the park to devastating horror show
5 whacked out enemy types including the viral marketing zombie and zombie twins Gu and Ga
6 tower types including the unique BOOSTER tower that lets you use twitter celebs to boost your tower stats
Achievements including “Making Video Game History”

Tweet Defense’s executive producer, Nelson Rodriguez explained, “We wondered what it would be like to take your social network and your activities there and turn it into a game. We ended up with a full on tower defense game that uses your friend list and your tweeting activity to impact how powerful your towers are.”

The Tweet Defense story: “A lethal marketing virus has turned half the world population into brain eating zombies. Now they are after your brains! All you have on hand are every day items and an internet connection. Reach out to your twitter friends to help you build defense towers out of every day items. Stop the zombies from penetrating your home base and eating your grey matter! With your friends helping you design the towers and your brilliant battle strategies the zombies do not stand a chance … or do they?”

You can find out more on the official site or follow them (unsurprisingly) on Twitter.

Dawn Of The Dead – iPhone – Review

Dawn Of The Dead – iPhone – Review

Dawn of the Dead is a new iPhone game from Bytemark Games, taking place in the 2004 remake’s Crossroads Mall. You play as either a policeman, a lady nurse or a salesman. I chose to play as the salesman as he looks like Shaun, especially from the top down view (no cricket bats though). Each character has their own attributes but these don’t really make a huge amount of difference to the game.

It’s fundamentally a twin stick shooter but adds in close combat weapons for a bit of variety. Move with your left thumb and attack with your right by tapping the screen.

Controls take a little bit of getting used to as you don’t aim where you’re facing. Unlike other shooters that I’ve played on the iPhone, Dawn of the Dead uses a 360 degree second stick as well, meaning that you can move in any direction while swinging or shooting in another. This is actually a necessity as you’ll usually be backing up hitting the zombies that are chasing after you.
