World War Z Film Going Ahead With Brad Pitt

Despite being in a kind of limbo for what seem like forever, Max Brooks revealed the good news at Comic Con that World War Z is both still going ahead and that Brad Pitt was officially attached to star.
Additionally Paramount also secured the right to Brooks’ two other zombie books, The Zombie Survival Guide and Recorded Attacks.
Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment secured the right with Paramount back in 2007 and since then it’s had several false starts with directors becoming attached and eventually dropping out, but according to Brooks WWZ is back on track for a summer 2012 release.
Brooks said:
I’m glad they took their time, and are trying to make the best zombie movie they can. I’m so glad they stayed with the project and so glad they found the right team.
We can’t wait to see the Battle of Yonkers on the big screen and will be using this news to bring you as many pictures of Angelina Jolie as we can.

i can not WAIT for this to hit the big screen! i’ve read max brooks’ book “world war Z” and it was fantastic! the concept of first person accounts of the zombie apocolypse made for an absolutely compelling read. if you liked this book, check out “the new dead”, an anthology of short stories all about zombies that includes a short by mr. max brooks that ties into WWZ.
