Left 4 Dead 2 Mods On Xbox 360

Valve have stated that they’re looking for ways to bring PC Left 4 Dead 2 mods to Xbox 360, but don’t hold your breath.
Speaking exclusively to Official Xbox Magazine, Valve went on record saying that they would like to make user created campaigns (using the free editing tools in the PC version) available to Xbox users. While PC users would get the new content for free though Xbox users would have to pay.
Xbox Live isn’t set up like that
There has long been a fight between developers who want to give away content and Microsoft making users pay for it. This isn’t (specifically) because Microsoft are evil (well…) but partly because they don’t want to waste their bandwidth on players downloading items they’re not going to use.
MS was slated for not allowing Unreal Tournament mods, where-as PS3 users were able to access new content. This was because Playstation charges developers for every download made but MS don’t (it also may have been because you got them through the PC rather than PSN though I guess). Regardless MS have shot down plans for Left 4 Dead 1 DLC being free as well as requests from developers Bethesda and Epic, so any new DLC Left 4 Dead 2 receives will most likely be paid for.
This isn’t all bad news though as mods will most likely go through a Valve filtering process, improving and bug fixing the campaigns that make it to Xbox plus they want to work out a method where the money goes to the developer of the mod.
We’ll have to filter them, we can’t allow any copyrighted materials, so it’s going to have to go through a process. But we’re hoping perhaps we can shepherd the really popular campaigns onto 360. And you know, if they are a paid system, perhaps that could go back to the authors. I think that would be a great story
Personally I’d pay for modders’ campaigns if it meant that somebody else had filtered through the raft of terrible ones that are sure to come out. What do you other Xbox owners think?

since left for dead 2 came out 3 – 4 years ago then its either supposed to come out next year my family is litteraly in the video game bussnises like my uncle is in valve and my friends dad works at treyarch
I just dont understand why microsoft are so stubborn about microsoft points, ohh we sell atleast 70% of all computers made, we sell one of the top 3 gaming consoles, we produce plenty of software that has to be paid for, but we dont have enough money ;\, jack offs, stop being greedy
All these months later, still nothing. I’d pay to play these, not a hell of a lot but I’d pay for it. I understand you can’t blindly allow anything onto the game since it might screw things up and you need quality controls, which cost money. The more content you want to have, the more possible content you have to look at it, the more people you have to pay to look at it. A rock band song costs 160 pts which is about $2 worth? So charge maybe 240 pts for a campaign and 160 pts for a single map…no new models allowed…except maybe changes to skins for common infected to better fit a map setting.
I Love My xBox and If It Wasnt For Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, I Wouldnt Have Bought My Live So I Can Play Online With Others. The DLC Available for Left 4 Dead 1 Is Soooo Disappointing, Its Been Out For So Long, No Mods, 2 New Campaigns That Are Only 2-3 Levels Long… Left 4 Dead 2 Same Deal… But The PC Version Has Replacement Audio, Visuals, Weapons, Campaigns. What The Hell. !?
