Virgin Trains Advise Not To Go Zombie

20 Aug

Virgin Trains - Don't Go Zombie

To go along with their series of posters like that above Virgin Trains have made a Google Street View game where players can navigate through the streets of London killing zombies along the way.

You can play the game at any location available on street view (try your own address!) and the highest scoring players will be entered into a draw to win first class travel with Virgin Trains.

One of the more entertaining features of the game is that once a player dies, their Facebook profile picture can be zombified and launched into the game. They then have the option to gain support from friends by posting a ‘rescue me’ message on their wall.

Also, later this summer there will be some special guest Zombies including Sir Richard Branson, who you will be able to kill or rescue (depending on your preference!)

To play it you can head on over to Don’t Go Zombie

Debbie Does Cakes should be familiar to our readers for this awesome Left 4 Dead cake and she’s revisited the zombie theme with this Hello Kitty zombie cake which Evil Sunday reader Sean commissioned for his wife.

We do however think that this kid could do with better supervision

The Walking Dead At Comic-Con 2010

13 Jul

Walking Dead Comic-Con

For those of you lucky enough to be attending Comic-Con 2010 in San Diego next week, here’s what you can expect from The Walking Dead panel on July 23rd.

The stars and producers of AMC’s highly-anticipated series THE WALKING DEAD, based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, will descend on Comic-Con 2010 for a panel event and exclusive sneak preview of the original drama. THE WALKING DEAD panel, scheduled for Friday, July 23, at 11:30 AM in Room 6BCF, will feature series stars Andrew Lincoln (LOVE ACTUALLY), Jon Bernthal (THE PACIFIC), Sarah Wayne Callies (PRISON BREAK), Laurie Holden (THE MIST), and Emma Bell (FROZEN). Joining the cast are writer, director, executive producer and three-time Academy Award nominee Frank Darabont (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE); executive producers Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd (THE TERMINATOR, ALIENS, ARMAGEDDON); make-up artist Greg Nicotero (George Romero’s LAND OF THE DEAD, THE MIST); and Joel Stillerman, AMC’s SVP of original programming, production and digital content.

During the hour-long event, moderator Eric Moro of IGN.com will lead panelists in a discussion about their experience shooting the series in Atlanta and the process of bringing Kirkman’s comic book to life on the small screen, among other topics, followed by an exclusive first look at THE WALKING DEAD and a Q&A session with attendees.

THE WALKING DEAD panel will be complemented by a number of on-the-ground activities taking place throughout Comic-Con:

Attendees will have an opportunity to get “zombified” by visiting THE WALKING DEAD booth and putting themselves into a zombie scene from the series via a touch screen; AMC will email the photo to them.

AMC will distribute limited edition “The Walking Dead” series posters from internationally recognized movie poster artist Drew Struzan (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Blade Runner, Hellboy and more).

An autograph session will take place with Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero and Gale Anne Hurd in the Image Comic Books booth.

AMC will distribute limited edition THE WALKING DEAD series buttons.

AMC will have THE WALKING DEAD walkers around the convention center and booth.

THE WALKING DEAD booth will be a semi-recreation of a scene from the pilot episode.

Don’t forget to pick us up some swag too!

Zombie Walk World Record Set By ZomBcon

5 Jul

Zombie Walk World Record

As we told you last week, ZomBcon’s made a world record attempt for the largest zombie walk on July 3rd.

The Red, White & Dead zombie walk managed an impressive 4,233 zombies, narrowly beating out The Big Chill’s 4,026, set last year in England to take the world record, supervised by the Guiness Book of World Record officials.

However such a small margin means that it’s still very possible to be beaten (the organisers wanted over 8,000 to make sure they could keep a hold of the record) and I’d be surprised if this title doesn’t change hands again very soon.

Still, congratulations to the organisers and we look forward to seeing what the main ZomBcon event holds in October.
