Zombie Wasteland Goners is a new, free game being developed by Jason Ozubko. It is an online zombie board game of survival and betrayal. The game will be played by 4 players who take turns roaming the zombie wasteland, killing undead and sabotaging each other.

Every player will be randomly assigned a secret mission and tasks at the start of every game, and so every time you play you will be given new motivations and aims. Sometimes you’ll be trying to keep your best friend alive, and other times you’ll be trying to get him killed. Sometimes you’ll be desperately seeking the chopper and escape, and other times you’ll be trying to detonate the nuclear power plant and end it all. Still other times you’ll be ready to give up, become a zombie, and start killing your former friends.

ZWG is still very early in it’s development with a public alpha to come later in the year but drawing on inspirations such as Zombies!!! and Dead Rising as well as gameplay modelled on the excellent X-COM series it’s sure to be fun. However, it needs your help!

What happens when you squeeze an innovative (if flawed) Xbox game onto a mobile device, remove everything that made it innovative and have to put up with terrible controls? Dead Rising Mobile of course!

Dead Rising mobile will have no psycho fights, no escort missions, none of the improvements from Dead Rising 2 like combining weapons and from the looks of things no picture taking or story. So, eh, what’s the point?

Well, Capcom have added Twitter and Facebook :|

If you die, you can send a code out to Twitter and Facebook and if your friends find you they can bring you back to life with no penalty. Nothing more fun than waiting half an hour to play a game again.

As you can tell, I think this looks terrible and will be absolutely no fun, however there’s still time for things to change before it’s Q4 release, so I’ll not completely condemn it.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going back to play Dead Rising 2.

In anticipation of the October 5th release for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 DLC, The Sacrifice, Valve have released this short trailer.

The new campaign will be released for free on PC but Xbox owners will have to fork out 500MSP for it.

World of Warcraft’s newest expansion, Cataclysm, features a quest that may be familiar to those of you who have played Plants Vs Zombies.

Peaceblooms Vs Ghouls is a ‘homage’ to the PopCap classic and although a significantly stripped down version it looks like it’ll be a welcome change from the grind to level 85.

This new trailer from PopCap shows some of the new features we can expect for it’s Xbox release in September.

Looks amazing, but not sure I can justify buying it for a 3rd time.

Not only are the comics brilliant, the movie good and the game looking like fun, but now Scott Pilgrim Vs The World on Xbox and PSN has a zombie mode!

Simply input ‘down, up, right, down, up, right, down, up, right, right, right’ at the title screen (DUR DUR DURRR) to unlock the all new zombie mode.

The image above invokes feelings of Robot Unicorn Attack, My Little Pony, Chuck Norris, Fist of the North Star as well as having a title similar to Plants Vs. Zombies, this new iPhone game from Mutant Games can not be done justice our words.

Mutant Games is proud to announce the development of his next incoming game for the iPhone: Farts VS Zombies.

Colonel John Farter is an American officer who spent seven years in a North Vietnamese POW camp, then escaped. He just recently came back, and discovers that his town is full of zombies and his only weapon is his ass. He mets up with his old friend Banana Max and together, they will launch a mission to free the town from The Evil Unicorn and his army of zombies.

In Farts VS Zombies you have to kill zombies with farts, you draw with the finger the path of the farts and direct them to their faces. The game goal is to protect the japanese schoolgirls from the attack of the zombies as much time as possible. In fact, zombies hate farts, it’s the only thing that can kill them, well… not the only one really. But the game is more than that, you can do Fart Combos, use funny Special Attacks and items and compete in online rankings with your friends to see who is the best farter!

Farts VS Zombies puts together many different elements and mixes them into a crude, vulgar, absurd but also a really fun, entertaining game. You will laugh like crazy! This is our contribution to the popular Zombie genre and also a kind of criticism, parody and tribute to the App Store. The project has been frozen during the last months but now we’re working on it again and we hope to release it soon.

Valve have teamed up with Gaming Heads to provide collectors with 12″ and 18″ ‘statues and replicas’ aka ‘toys’ of their favourite Valve characters.

On Friday pre-orders for their newest creation, the Left 4 Dead Tank will go live, and although the image above is a blurry tease, it does look pretty cool and very detailed.

Be warned though, if the Heavy from TF2 is anything to go by, you could be looking at almost $250 to own one of these little big guys.

Exclusive collectors toy? Pshaw. Unique DLC? No thanks. Limited Edition steel box? Not interested. Be on the cover of the new Dead Rising 2 box? Tell me more!

Play.com have revealed that gamers who pre-order from them can zombify themselves and star on the cover of upcoming Capcom game Dead Rising 2.

Pre-order Dead Rising 2 from Play.com and receive a code to gain access to the exclusive ‘Zombify Yourself’ cover offer. Upload your own picture to MyDeadRising2.com (coming soon), morph yourself into a zombie and then add yourself to the official Dead Rising 2 game cover! You will then be sent your customized cover in exactly the same size and quality as the standard game inlay. Codes will be emailed the week of release.

Not sure what this will do to your trade in value, but in ZC Barry’s case it’s likely to devalue it significantly.

While it was never ‘officially’ Michael Jackson, everybody knew that the red jump-suited zombie was a homage to the late King of Pop’s Thriller and watching him dance in Plants Vs. Zombies has delighted fans everywhere.

It seems that not everybody agreed though and after objections from Michael Jackson’s Estate PopCap have had to remove him and replace him with a Saturday Night Fever zombie.

A PopCap spokesman said:

After receiving this objection, PopCap made a business decision to retire the original ‘dancing zombie’ and replace it with a different ‘dancing zombie’ character for future builds of Plants vs. Zombies on all platforms. The phase-out and replacement process is under way.
