Zombie Smash – iPhone Game – Trailer

25 Feb

ZC Barry has been playing the beta version of Zombie Smash for the last couple of weeks (look for his name in the credits!) and, despite throwing tantrums when the zombies over-run his house, has been enjoying it immensely.

If you look closely you can see the app icon in the image for the Zombie Command app.

ZombieSmash! is a Survival Comedy game for the iPhone and iPod touch, featuring undead-themed castle defense and entertaining, physics-based gameplay. The game casts players as Joey, a lone survivor pit against a herd of writhing, unrelenting zombies – to defeat the undead masses, players must use their fingers to flick and smash them until they’re un-undead.

A full review will be out as soon as the game is released and until then you can follow the progress on Twitter or on Facebook.

Resident Evil… Monopoly

Resident Evil… Monopoly

If there’s one thing the world was missing it was world peace, uniting the Earth in the common threat of a zombie uprising. If there was another thing the world was missing it was Resident Evil Monopoly.

With the zombocalypse drawing ever closer though one man couldn’t risk waiting for a unified Earth and took matters into his own hands.

4 years in the making, Nicholas “Neptune” Endean, finally saw his endeavors paid off and has a Resident Evil Monopoly that would make and fan proud; boasting such locations as the Raccoon Police Department and Spencer Mansion.

He lays out the whole process over on his site and tells of all the missteps on the way, including printing a 1m x 1m board!

Dead Rising – Case Zero

Dead Rising – Case Zero

Blue Castle, developers of upcoming zombie game sequel Dead Rising 2, clarified how the prequel will work for those wanting in on the zombie action early.

Case Zero is a stand alone game that won’t require either a copy of Dead Rising or Dead Rising 2 to be playable and will most likely be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The game will contain wholly unique content and is not a demo, it will ‘give gamers a good sense of how the game is going to play’ so it won’t be free, but Blue Castle made clear that it would be accessibly priced (so 800 or maybe 400 MSP then).

Case Zero will be available ’significantly’ before Dead Rising 2’s August release date.

Left 4 Dead 2’s World Population Killed 4 Times Over

15 Feb
Left 4 Dead 2’s World Population Killed 4 Times Over

If you thought the Genocide Achievement in Left 4 Dead was ridiculous (kill 53,595 zombies) you’re about to be blown away by the latest news from Valve.

In the first two months of Left 4 Dead 2’s release, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed — or, for our younger readers, taken to a farm where they can frolic and shuffle around forever.

You read that correctly: 28 BILLION. To put that number in perspective:
The entire population of the planet has been zombified and killed 4.26 times.

With the average height of a zombie being 6 feet, if you stacked them end to end they would circle the globe 1,322 times.

If you placed 28,981,249,043 rulers end to end, they would reach 28,981,249,043 feet in the sky.

In short: That is a bucketload of dead zombies. Nice job, everyone.

It’s worth noting that Zombie Command has contributed over 27 billion kills themselves, making us slightly less surprised about this news and wondering what everybody else is doing.

Virtual Reality Left 4 Dead

8 Feb

With only a VR headset, a Wii, some software (GlovePIE) and a copy of Left 4 Dead you too can experience some genuine zombie apocalypse training.

While the upgrade to Wii motion plus is still to be implemented for more accurate shooting, this looks as close to the zombie apocalypse that we ever want to be.

If anybody would like to recreate this and do a tutorial for us please get in touch.
