Best of Dreamcast Includes 2 Zombie Games
Screw Attack celebrate 10 years of Sega Dreamcast by counting down their top 10 games. I loved the Dreamcast and 2 zombie games in there is just a bonus.
My top 5 zombie games on Dreamcast.
- Resident Evil: Code Veronica – Brilliant. Played it through about 4 times. This was the RE that got me into the extended series and I played Survivor, Outbreak and every other spin-off hoping to get a bit more of that Code Veronica vibe.
- House of the Dead 2 – I remember going into the electronics store hoping it would be on sale not long after buying a Dreamcast… and it was! Picked up 2 copies for cheap and bought some lightguns. Me and my cousin would play this for hours in the dark. We were 20.
- Typing of the Dead – The same game but with words. I had a keyboard for Quake 3 or probably wouldn’t have hunted this down in a UK playable version but it’s probably part of the reason I can churn out nonsense lists like this on the site now :D
- Evil Dead: Hail to the King – This was technically awful but I just rediscovered Evil Dead 1 & 2 and was reading everything I could on how it was made and what it was about. As a whole it was really the start of my zombie obsession and I loved this game. If I remember correctly I could complete it in about 2-3 hours after the first couple of play-throughs. Horrible camera, horrible controls, horrible graphics, 8/10
- Carrier – Not sure if this was really a zombie game but remember there was definitely some sort of infection involved as I explored the ship. Not even sure if I even finished it or not. Still awesome; like everything on Dreamcast.
Honorable mentions should go to Resident Evil 2 and 3 which I also played for the first time on Dreamcast but I wouldn’t really class them as Dreamcast games and also Zombie Revenge, another House of the Dead spin-off but I never played that. I think I still have my Dreamcast and both Shenmue saves. Oh god, it’s all coming back. No Shenmue 3; why Suzuki, whyyyyyyy?!!! I think I’m going to cry.
