Dead Rising 2 Multiplayer – Terror Is Reality
Joystiq have made it over to TGS:2009 and with Capcom finally deciding to brave the swine flu and attend a show Dead Rising 2 multiplayer is available for hands on enjoyment.
The trailer above shows off the reason for yesterday’s picture of awesomeness and pits up to 4 players against each other and zombies in an arena rather than having them all run around ‘Vegas’.
The games on show included ‘Ramsterball’ where players mow down zombies in giant hamster balls for points. One player also has the power to squash zombies with pillars, but if another player rams into them (Ed: I see what they did there) they get the power.
Headache was another game on show, which sounds a bit weird. Players run around putting buckets on zombies heads. When players have blinded 5 zombies this way they get sticks of dynamite to blow them all up, but if you push a big red button in the middle of the arena all bucket-headed zombies blow up. The more you blow up, the more points you get.
Pounds of Flesh is the game where you get to wear those awesome antler helmets! Players flip zombies up with their newly horned head and try to make zombies land of a scale. The more bits of zombie you can get on there the more points you get.
The last game was Slicecycles and is equally awesome. Players ride a motorbike equipped with chainsaws on the side and have to hack down zombies as they drive by. The points accrued in the other games end up as a time advantage for this zombie slaying much like the Eliminator head to head at the end of Gladiators, but even if you lost the rest you could still win the game by killing most zombies here.
With no Zombie Commandos over at TGS we recommend you head over to Joystiq in the source link to read up on what it was like to actually play the game.
