A – Z Of Upcoming Zombie Movies

K?

OK, so we’re not exactly going to make the complete alphabet. Can someone invent “Knife Wielding Zombie Massacre” please?

L.A. Zombie

Trailer:

Basically, it’s a gay zombie porn movie. Director Bruca La Bruce’s second gay zombie porn movie actually.

A homeless schizophrenic (François Sagat), thinks he’s an alien zombie sent to earth. Roaming the streets of Los Angeles in search of dead bodies (either finding the bodies or witnessing a murder), trying to bring the dead back to life by engaging in homosexual sex.

Good: Hunky blokes and zombies in a gay porno. What’s not to like.
Bad: Well, gay porn may not be to everyone’s tastes.

Mind Rip

Trailer:

Trashy Grindhouse-style zombie mad scientist caper.

It’s an ode to drive-in horror — with a mad scientist, monsters, and zombies. Mind Rip is a grindhouse-style horror film. With a nod to the terror romps of the seventies, it contains over-the-top thrills and tongue-in-cheek violence. Mind Rip draws inspiration from such films as Phantasm, Evil Dead, and the original Dawn of the Dead.

Good: Looks suitably trashy and gory, with a Evil Dead / RetarDEAD feel to it.
Bad: Aiming for a Grindhouse may just be a way of masking a sucky movie.

Night of the Living Heads

Official Site: Night of the Living Heads (trailer viewable on the site)
Mutant strain of marijuana turns locals into zombies.

A mysterious yet potent strain of Marijuana from Jamaica has hit the streets in a quiet, suburban neighborhood. It doesn’t take long until the effects of the powerful Ganja take control of the town stoners; and cause them to start acting strange. Can you handle the high-caliber chronic? Or, will you fall victim to the…Night of the Living Heads?

Good: Who doesn’t love a good stoner movie?
Bad: It’s not often that a movie with a Night of the Living Dead pun title is actually any good.

Follow up to the Nazi zombie/ghost movie, Outpost.
Good: The same director is on board for the sequel, so he should be able to handle the franchise.
Bad: The first film was more a nazi ghost film than a zombie movie, so will this continue in the sequel?

Perros Muertos

Again nothing on this zombie film beyond the little bit of information we could grab from this Variety article.

“Perros” has a petty criminal, Cocacolo, pulling a Barcelona bank job and fleeing south, just as a family leaves Northern Spain for holidays. The motley group join together in the Spanish countryside to battle a zombie outbreak sparked by the locals’ consumption of adulterated rapeseed oil.

A Spanish criminal hooks up with a family to fend off rapeseed oil infected zombies
Good: Spain have a good track record for Zombie films. Just look at the Blind Dead or REC series.
Bad: Hang on, a zombie outbreak caused by over-consumption of rapeseed oil?
